Welcome
I am Anne O'Dea and I at school on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday morning and Friday.
Each class from Yr. 1 to Yr. 6 receives a weekly 50-minute lesson. Foundation classes come to me for singing on most Fridays after lunch. This Wednesday (8/2) is our first ‘Come and try’ Festival Choir for students in years 5 & 6 in preparation for our schools’ participation in the Primary Schools Music Festival held at the Festival Theatre each September. We will be rehearsing each Wednesday at 8:50am. Students have many opportunities through this organisation for dance, drama, public speaking, solo singing, orchestra participation and visual art. Information will be provided as these opportunities arise. Any student in years 5/6 can participate…there is no audition process. There is a participation fee of $45 which covers a choir book, access to the PSMF app/learning portal, performance t shirt and part of the bus fare for our major rehearsals in term 3. A payment plan can be organised. All information regarding Festival Choir will be sent home in the next couple of weeks. The Year 2/3/4 choir rehearsals will be on Fridays at lunchtime starting in Week 3 (17/2). Instrumental Music lessons begin this week. Anyone still wishing to register interest please go to this link to fill in the online form. https://forms.office.com/r/7agwriv3pC Band/ensemble for invited instrumentalist will be on Tuesday mornings at 8:15am starting soon. The classes I teach will have a music focus. Drama will be integrated into my lessons through performance. Performances will take place in class settings and at assemblies. Where class teachers are working on a particular topic, I sometimes structure my lessons around that topic. Early in Term 4, we will be visited by the JAM Band (Just Add Music) for a whole school performance. I will teach all the classes the songs the band will be performing. 3 or 4 selected classes will have the opportunity to feature in dance/drama for some of the songs. The cost for this performance is $7.50/student. Please feel free to contact me at school (email is best [email protected]) if you require further clarification. Anne |
